in interests of speed (as i am rapidly running out of tonight), no play by play but... yeah. that was some kinda side interlude, wasn't it? some of me is like... beloved, didn't you set them up for this? but at the same time, did you really know what you were condemning your people to when you chose, for once, with your heart? this was so bittersweet.
and that he wanted her to see at least this part of who he is. so she could turn away now if she had to.

This card changed the Raf fandom when it dropped, the last we had seen of his dark side had been at the Nest in the main story basically. So many people even ignored that he actually killed people because they didn't read his anecdotes or WU texts, so this one was big.
And the character development! Him accepting that he needs an anchor! Choosing to let MC see a bit more of the real him! The body horror that accompanies many of Raf's cards where Lemurians are directly involved! Just an amazing card all around.
Very slight spoiler in that it uses a specific line from the latest WU
The very interesting thing is that in the main timeline it's starting to look like Lemurians' situation is not necessarily tied to RafMC because the disaster related to Lemuria happened when Raf and MC still hadn't reconnected, so there was no failed ceremony in this life. It's more likely that EVER fucked them over and they've been on the run ever since.
Raf finding MC again definitely introduces the conflict of "damn I could solve all of this if I just took back my heart and got my full powers" rather than hoping to find other solutions that cost lives ever second that passes.
