So it happened. I was complaining about my lack of red cards for Raf, especially that red solar pair that is infamous for being extremely difficult to complete on the galaxy pull. If you recall, me getting the difficult half of the pair on my second account was enough reason to drop that account out of sheer rage. 
Then yesterday I was doing my dailies and...



I legitimately had to take a break from work because I couldn't believe what had just happened.

And I knew that THIS was my huge problem with the last battle of Team C on SHC because I was using a 3* card and it was clearly not enough. I had to try and try again because I didn't have enough resources to level both the new red card and its protocores to the highest level, but after a day of tests I did it!

And while I was jumping around celebrating I got Raf texting me to celebrate too. It was very sweet, possibly the biggest moment I've ever had with LADS where receiving a text from a LI felt completely natural. Of course he texted me immediately, I wish I could have done that.

gratulations! oh my god, both that card (wow, that ART) and your first full clear are ah-mazing and i about 90% pleased for you and 10% wistful that i will be forever to get there myself.

I'm still in denial indeed. And yes, repeating this feat next season will be even harder because my expectations are definitely higher now lol Oh the shame if I can't repeat this achievement.

And I was looking at your cards, for SHC the average level of all the cards in each team has to be at least in the 60s with protocores either level +9 or +12 (of course it's even better if they're +15). When in doubt, invest in leveling 5* over 4* whenever you can (unless it's to complete a team, then 4* are more than welcome). With that, you should be able to get a few more stars in the SHC. Then there's also the matter of the DMG boost you get from owning certain required cards. Usually every season rewards you for getting the cards of the most recent banner (for example, this time it expected me to have both Zayne's bday cards on top of the beach banner), and while I will never tell you to pull for a card just so you can have a boost in SHC, it's nice when it happens and you need to count for its absence if you don't have the cards it wants.

To give you a point of reference, these were my teams for the season. DEF stats only matter if you use a DEF companion; if you go for an ATK one, then consider the DEF points to be added to ATK instead. Team A and B I passed easily with time to spare, but I have a full deck of +15 protocores in team A, so I believe it's doable with lower cards as well. Team C I passed by the skin of my teeth, but that's a 4* unranked solar pair, so it's to be expected.

okay. i got 20 stars out of 36 on this last run and I am definitely really far off your numbers in some cases and kinda closeish in others.

here is the link to my terrible spreadsheet on all my protocores which i hope you can access as VIEWER. This is the same sheet that also has my list of cards on the first sheet.

I ran a conditional format on the protocore sheet to pop out with a darker color the highest value in each column in case that might help at all. If you would prefer EDITOR access, just let me know?

i look at this and quasi-despair. this is a lot of data and I was fairly ruthless in trimming the fat as it were and I still have 250 or so protocores that i thought might be useful.

first big question as i look at this and attempt to absorb its lesson in gestalt..

you say "gray (is) trash it" but at the bottom under "ideal for companions" you have the beloved Colonel in... gray. Please don't tell me to trash Caleb, I only just got the guy! but which gray is 'keep for colonel' and which is 'bin this'?

LOL no okay that was ambiguous of me, my bad.
The section "ideal protocores for companions" is its own thing, and Caleb is in grey only because I couldn't put him in solid black (all the LIs have muted colors).

The "bin this" refers to the protocores (alpha, beta, gamma, delta) you listed in table format.

got it, toyota. i will plink through my cores today while i skive off of work (its been super slow this week, its wild) and get rid of all the gray ones you've tagged. I have copied your sheet back into my own so you can turf yours if you want.

... okay, hot minute over. i grabbed two of the current SHC stellacrum requirements just to have something to work against for a real test case.

i put in a third page into the spreadsheet and then did my best "test" protocore-to-card matchy matchy, focusing on the main stat for (in this case) LSG and Sand Assassin, defaulting to atk/atk%/crit/crit dmg where i couldn't get a match for the scaling stat. if i am reading this right, what i have discovered is that i have abysmal matches in the purple protocores in alpha/beta pairs for the LSG (DEF scale) and i really need to focus on trying to get something in those slots if at all possible.

unless those core just don't drop with those stats at all?
