Update: the bug triggers a half-illusio effect where you can see the different outfit on the LI's main story chapters (though not all of them) and bonds! 
For example, the absolute perfection that is Sylus' entrance in the main story with his vampire outfit.
I tried it myself and managed to trigger the glitch on a couple of main story chapters, but in another one it debugged itself. Unfortunately, because the glitch is triggered by giving flowers to the LI in the home system, you only get 5 attempts per day.
