Option 1 is what you just thought of. The Gaia Research Center was canonically destroyed during the Catastrophe when MC was little, so this is Gaia 2.0? I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that this will never be mentioned again. Aside from this ambiguous text here, Gaia will always clearly reference the center that was active before the Chronorift Catastrophe.

Option 2 is what I was referring to with the bomb that could completely rewrite what we thought previously:
From Raf's anecdote we know that he travels from Verona (where he is an opera singer) to Linkon because MC is there, and he becomes a professor at her university so he can stalk her. They're both young adults.
From Raf's first bond we are told that their meetcute is him being stranded on a beach, MC rescuing him, them promising to meet again the next year but then MC straight up disappears.
From Raf's branch in the main story we see a visual flashback where a young Raf and a young MC pinky promise to meet again (he says something like "if you don't return I'll chase you to the ends of the earth"), and MC also remembers suffering from a fever which she guesses is why she lost her memories of that promise and stood him up (we players instead know that the experiments are probably the cause).

But if we trust the text and assume mentioning Gaia will automatically set the moment in a specific point of the calendar for us (and assuming we're not thinking of Gaia 2.0), then this happened when MC was little. She was either already at the Gaia center or will arrive in the future, but the problematic detail here is that Raf is already a professor, already an adult. If he's already an adult when MC is a child, then that flashback MC got was not from this timeline. It's not in the present that they were kids together.

So it comes down to:
a) There's a new Gaia center and it's active and Raf knows
b) This is the og Gaia center and Raf is not aging like Xavier is also not aging. The flashback of RafMC as kids is from a past life
c) This is the game writers doing an oopsie

- Greyson is a cutie in love and I really hope we'll get to see that love story bloom in future updates.

- Where were Luke and Kieran being researched on? We are post Chronorift, so we're talking of some other EVER hub.
"oh man, they are 16 year old babies." Yes! We finally have a point of reference for their age. They really are Sylus' adopted sons.

"the twins met him at Elysium" We saw Elysium in Sy's section of the main story, it's where we were involved in a shootout. It has a hot girlboss bartender and a weird menu.
"and then has them fight each other" I love how sadistic Sylus is in this part. It's a lovely reminder that our current situation (with Sy being a full time househusband with 2 sons and 1 pet) isn't to be taken for granted at all. Especially because Luke and Kieran felt what it's like not being part of his closer circle.
"Sylus shatters the crystals instead" this man can use his evol to delay a Wanderer transformation and he's not telling anyone. Somewhere in Linkon Zayne is waking up with a migraine.
