- I had the same impression, it's like there's double the side stories to play. But looking carefully I think it's just like during the other banners, but this one is so pop and colorful that it looks bigger compared to the others. The shop, too, I feel like has more stuff (double the stickers, several music tracks). Then you have the clothes rerun (which I immediately grabbed because those come from catch-22 and I was already resigned that I wouldn't get them), the new outfits, the promise event, the floral head accessory, the black turtleneck outfit (which is so delicious, my god). There IS more stuff to do around.
- I'm still thinking about the banner outfits. I have RafMC, but I'm eyeing the red one too. I don't think I'll keep on pulling to the next crate, so Sylus will stay sans dance outfit, but MC's is really calling me. If you go for more than 3 you might as well buy the package that gives all 5, it will cost less diamonds.
- For battles they fixed a couple of routing issues with LSG and KOD where MC spawned in the wrong place when using a certain skill, but mostly they finally worked that battle level where you need to stay in the circle with the...thing while it charges, and if any wonderer steps into the circle it goes red and you lose progress. Well now no more, when you step out of the circle or a wonderer goes in the loading simply stops until you clear the circle again, you don't lose progress. And if you kill all the wonderers it's also an automatic win, you don't have to wait for the thing to load up to 100% anymore.
There probably is something else but I can't remember it now. Unfortunately we still have that awful timer starting before you even reach the battle arena and the enemies have spawned. Maybe at a certain point we'll get that fixed too.
- Speaking of battles, I am stuck at fire orbit 190 and while I cried a bit because Raf's card is yellow and I really wanted a red or blue, it was still useful because I swapped it with the one I was using before and got a bit more DMG boost. Congrats on your open orbit! Usually the hard battles are every 5 levels, so you should be able to climb to 75 without issue and get some sweet red diamonds out of it.
- And speaking of Raf's card, I finally managed to play it and I love it so much. So so good. It's Banquet Ablaze 2.0, so that 4-star should be watched before this card. What was hilarious was how random the dance off was. I can just imagine the meeting with his writing team at infold like "This script is bomb, we really outdid ourselves this time" "Yes I'm very proud of you, but this is an idol banner? We need a scene where they dance a choreo?" "Uhhhhhhh yeah IDK at a certain point they want to twerk a bit, but then we go back to the bomb script!"
Like, I don't think I can convey just how hilarious this scene is once you read the story. It's so absolutely random.
Another big thing that I'm noticing is that finally the LIs are sitting when they're described as sitting in the car or on the couch! They're using the correct poses to do that! I might cry!

I just watched Caleb's card:
- absolutely adorable. and yes, they're both very very horny. I'm still confused about their development because they act like they still haven't really fucked, which might just be the case tbh. Maybe at his birthday they didn't get to that point, and it would explain the constant push and pull that they still have, despite being a couple. They spent so much time toeing around each other that now that they can act on their feelings they're still hesitating. Though a couple of lines by Caleb make me think that MC is the one still hesitating because these feelings are new and a little bit scary, he's just waiting for her so he can start letting go.
- there's a coherent plot where they explain why he ends up on a stage dancing. Raf's team, see how they did it? lol
- the kissing noises were fine. I... THIS IS NOT A DRILL THE KISSING NOISES WERE FINE
- I haven't found a CN comparison but I'll start looking for that, I feel like the "every inch of you" wasn't the only place where the EN team decided to fuck us over
Watched Sylus' card:
- a nice story, but compared to Caleb's and Raf's I haven't noticed a sensible shift in their relationship dynamic. It's all very established.
- there were some nice lore drops about the world of onychinus and what Sylus is dealing with. There's also some foreshadowing of his future plans. There's a dialogue line that references Death&Rebirth directly and will leave you very confused if you haven't read his part of the main story too. But on the other hand it's also just one line, so you can decide to simply take it as it is.
- the dance part is possibly even more random than Raf's because it clashes so hard with Sylus' image. But that's my bias and my prejudice, after all this is the same man who has a side job as [redacted], who [redacted] and [redacted]. Him dancing his ass off in a club shouldn't really be surprising. Expect everything and anything from boss man, that should be the only correct logic.
- the spicy part is top tier, of course

okay! first, Sylus turned up nearly right out of the gate (hello, darling! so pleased to see you too) and then Caleb decided to finally wander through the kitchen on pull 66 so thanks for that, gege.
-- nope still haven't gotten to Death & Rebirth, i am being very methodical and not peeking ahead.
-- as far as i'm concerned, Sylus is likely down for anything that looks even remotely amusing, even if its only for an evening or even just a few hours. the man doesn't seem phased by anything, at least not that i've ever seen. i mean, he even gave himself a legit fruit selling business because... he felt like it? it seemed the thing to do at the time? it made the girlfriend stomp her foot? i mean, c'mon, all of the above!
i am now sitting down with my tea and an enthusiasm bordering on maniacal to see what Sylus has in store for me. i even remembered to glitch myself to my new dragongirl look (oh yeah! i finally got both cards ascended tonight, right after i finished wish pulling so eeeeee THAT IS NEXT *cough*).
- i gotta say.. i always forget just so deep and drawn out Sylus talks, since he hasn't turned up that often lately for me. i just adore his VA's cadence and when he chuckles, it's like a hand stroking down your back. gosh, i love him, your honor.
- the way Sylus says "...your Association", I get the impression he's not really impressed by my employers. honestly buddy, neither am i.
- uh, Anhausen class evolvers are vulnerable specifically to magnetic fluctuations? since when!?
- road trip!
- hey, i LIKE this motorcycle! don't you dare imply a thing about her. don't listen to him babycakes, he's a nepotism hire.
- there is a lot more lip movement than i've seen before. have they upgraded the... everything? Sylus has a couple of new idle animations? it even seems like there's just more motion overall.
- nooo Sylus, do not, for the love of little sweet pickles, wander this way to lean over me like you want to inspect my lip gloss up close. i have only so much self control and i use most of it to resist fried mushroom options.
- may i take this moment to say... i love being a badass motorcycle driver. some of the recent myths i've gone through have me as a spoiled helpless brat and its so great to suddenly be competent and hell-for-leather again.
- in some of these lights, Sylus looks damned near ethereal.
- oh my god, YES, he DOES SIT DOWN WITH YOU. fantastic, perfect, gorgeous, no notes.
- does.. wow. did he really just nearly outright state he wants me to come live in the N109? that was right on the edge of an outright statement.
- i am adoring these new animations. i hope they don't get old anytime soon.
- awww! i got to the dance scene and the whole sequence glitched out -- music kept playing but i was freeze-framing the whole way through. fine. whatever. i can come back to that later, maybe it'll iron itself out or there will be a patch or something.
- oh. so it was me that got so into that that we ended up with both us on the ground. well, good for me. and then Sylus for flipping us over.
- so much kissing. yas, queen, geddit.
- also, did you notice they've played with the lighting? while its still kinda weirdly inconsistent to the stated text in sections (ie, we were supposed to be in darkness in the tunnel at the beginning and it was obviously lit up by actual lights on the walls), there's been moments when its supposed to be night or in the dark corner of the bar and the scene lighting actually reflects that with Sylus in obvious shadow. love that for all of us, even if it does make screencapping more interesting.

Watched Xavier's card:
- as of now, the funniest. That boy had me laughing the entire way through, he's such a comedian
- Very nice relationship development with MC! Xav finally opening up, this is BIG for him. All the cards have lore or relationship development or both. Very good job on this banner, it's definitely not a filler one, and players should absolutely watch the cards they don't get on youtube because they're character/plot relevant.
- They're both so horny, oh my god. The spicy scene is really something
- Them ending up on the stage was again a bit random, and we're just supposed to believe that they just dance like that on the regular lol So in order from Most Believable to Less Believable we now have: Caleb, Sylus, Xavier, Raf.
And I've also finished with Zayne's card:
- the sweetest. He talks about his past during the Chronorift and Mt.Eternal, and it's so so important. He also shows how his personality and outlook on life is slowly changing thanks to MC's closeness. Again a very important card for the development of his character.
- There is no spicy scene, basically. But that's to be expected, he fucked MC from behind in his myth, it wasn't his turn this time lol
- ZayneMC have always been associated with slow dancing in several cards, so that's something that I would easily see them do. That choreo was...out of nowhere lmao
New order from Most Believable to Less Believable to break off into a kpop choreo, from both the card plot perspective, and the character: Caleb (plot yes character yes), Sylus (plot okay, character okay), Xavier (plot okay, character okay), Raf (plot no, character yes), Zayne (plot meh, character no??)
- They're really showing that the rating is now higher, huh lmao. What a sudden twist of events towards the end.
All in all I'm so satisfied with this banner, damn. They all did an amazing job. All the scenes are so much better, not just with the mouth movements, the body movements, the VAs (even the minor ones), the new backgrounds, but especially with how more alive the non-kindled moments are. Seeing the LIs sitting, turning, the lights changing to follow the story, the wind coming in when it needs to show up, even the camera moving to show that MC is looking elsewhere, it makes it all feel more like a complete story than a visual novel with occasionally animated cut scenes. I hope this is the new standard moving forward.

this is where i shamefully admit that i just bought the full on pack for all the girlfriend outfits .. i really wanted just three of them but the game (thank you game!) pointed out that it was cheaper to buy the big pack for all of them than the individuals, just like you said but i'd already forgotten by the time i got to the store last night.
i am hoping this weekend to get in some serious glamour time in the photobooth trying out the new looks.
it's quiet at work, i am going to try to sneaky watch the other dance-offs starting with Xavier since he comes so highly recommended :P i will save Caleb obviously for myself since I have his card and maybe THIS time the dance-off won't glitch out for me.
EDIT: also, right. i haven't watched Banquet Ablaze yet for Rafayel, so will add that to the list before I tackle the dance-off card. also, also maybe i'll find time to do Illusio somewhere. my god, i need more hours in a day, this is ludicrous. efficiency is nowhere NEAR my middle name.
EDIT EDIT: I am 2:30 into Xavier's card and I've already laughed several times. this guy! he's the best. Zayne may have the most deadpan delivery, but Xavier just SAYS stuff and then blinks at you like 'what?'

I'm still resisting on the outfits because I already caved and bought the upgrading resources that you find on the main page of the cafe, below the button of your profile and the one for the specific cafè interactions with the LIs. Then there's the promise running now with Raf's card. I'm also resisting pulling until I get Caleb's card, which I really really like (there's a specific frame during their kiss that has me feral but I'll wait for you to watch the card before pointing it out so you get no spoilers), but I also really don't need.
Xavier's card is really lovely, you'll have a great time watching it I'm sure.
Rafayel's is a punch to the heart and then to the face as per usual. There are so many callbacks to his other cards but the main ones are definitely his WU text where Talia tells him that he needs to find an anchor, and then Banquet Ablaze. I understand that it's longer because of this, but it's so worth it I promise.
I'm seeing amazing things done with the black turtleneck outfit + black cap + face mask. Idol look 100%. The side effects can include drooling and stomach butterflies.

Okay, finished Xavier's walkthrough and that was damned adorable, A+ on all of it honestly. I am such a sucker for soft!Xavier and the spice was just right for both them. my guess is the kiss mark on his clavicle is from the night before in the hotel sleep pod, then she bites him again on his hip during the card because why wouldn't you.
There was a surprising amount of lore specifics dropped throughout, i mean, for a "idol" card. I wasn't expecting anything but there were a few things there that made me wish I had a document open to jot down.
I LOVED that one tiny couple of frames where they're hiding and Xavier peeks around the corner and he's completely out of focus while we're looking over his shoulder at the entryway. If that kind of camera work is our new benchmark, consider me sold. I also noticed that the decorations on his outfit were casting precise shadows on nearby things so also a thumbsup for those kinds mechanical kinds of upgrades too. Nice to know they're spending our money on actual game things!
i picked up the first two pages of rewards on the front page thingie too, but stalled on the $6.99 one for now. I may pick it up later, we'll see. the influx of extra materials was sure nice!
not sure if will do Rafayel's thing tonight or Caleb's, i am going to surprise both of us with it :D

If I remember correctly the 6.99 should be the last tier, the entire thing costing around 10 dollars. But between the golden tickets and the materials in it, it's good value for money.
And yes all the cards in this banner are deeper than they look, it's like they wanted us to be lulled into a false sense of security with the silly premise, and then dropped lore bombs on us lol

i really, REALLY liked Rafayel's card-- from the set up to the conversations to the lore stuff to the dance off and then the aftermath of that. i even liked the inclusion of the whale at the end, cheesy as it was.
there was more of the new camera stuff that i completely approve of and i really liked Rafayel flipping back and forth between lover and player. both thumbs up for me, that was more excellent than i even expected and i was kind of expecting a lot after you loved it so much. if i was guaranteed that card on completing the pity countdown, i'd go for it, but its possible i'd lose out and i am not in it for 33 + a potential other 70.
i did end up pulling for 125 so i have both Caleb and Rafayel's outfits which i am feeling fairly smug about for absolutely no reason.
now i need to do Caleb's card (i am agitated, just thinking about it. god i hope i love it just as much as i loved Raf and Sylus) and then get back to vibrating in my seat about Cloudfall.
