And Caleb will always try to be a wall for her. I like that you didn't use the word "shield" because it's too little an object (also can be wielded by hand) for what Caleb wants to be. A wall is canon-compliant to his obsessive need to close MC into a room where she'll be safe from everything and everyone else, the little girl he's desperately trying to see as a woman now, someone who wants to stand by his side rather than hidden behind his back.
