It does, so long as it's still active. The problem is that Raf (a whole Lemurian) feels it, but MC (a human) does not. And of course there's the whole thing about love. A bond does not require it ("Lemurians don't fall in love with the people they're bound to. 'Tis a human fantasy"), so unless the two parties fall in love and strengthen it, it's little more than a leash to control the Lemurian (/coughs Abysswalker /coughs).

And the fact that Raf could not remember Whalefall City, so MC ended up showing him its outline by resonating with the shark, and all the while he was literally walking through WC streets, completely oblivious that he was technically already home.

Once again they're not beating the exhibitionism kink allegations. If you remember, in Raf's branch they also had to be all intimate in front of people to get away with their plan, and I told you to put a pin on it because that's quite a regular thing for them. Here we see it AGAIN. I shall not tell you where else it turns up.
