Combat - Or What The Hell Is All This Stuff
#19

Standard companions all scale on ATK:

Xavier = Youth, Evol Police, Hunter
Rafayel = Fresh Paint, Phantom Siren, Artist
Zayne = Medic, Dawnbreaker, Doctor
Sylus = Otherwordly visitor
Caleb = Pilot

Myth pairs scale on different stats:

Xavier (limited myth) = Lumiere = DEF
Xavier (standard myth) = Lightseeker = ATK

Zayne (limited myth) = Master Of Fate = ATK
Zayne (standard myth) = Foreseer = DEF

Rafayel (limited myth) = God of the Tides = HP
Rafayel (standard myth) = Abysswalker = ATK

Sylus (limited myth) = Abysm Sovereign = HP
Sylus (standard myth) = Relentless Conqueror = ATK

Caleb (limited myth) = Ultimate Weapon X-02 = ATK
Caleb (standard myth) = Colonel = DEF

As far as I know, all standard MC weapons (hunter sword, wand, claymore, firearm) scale on ATK, and weapons specific for a certain companion share that companion's scaling stat.

- Using only cards that match companion's stat with talent is easier said than done. I haven't looked at all the talents of each card, but I don't even know if it's intended for a f2p/low spender player to do that. Feels like something you can do if you buy every single card in existence. What really matters is that all the protocores boost the companion's scaling stat.

From what I'm understanding, unless you happen to fall on a card that has the talent matching the companion's scaling stat, you ignore talent altogether when you put protocores in. You prioritize the companion 12 times (2 protocores for each card). If you happen to have a substat that matches the talent, okay, but it's not going to make or break your battle, matching the companion to the right protocores will.

If you can't match stellactrum, build Crit Rate first, Crit DMG comes second. It's useless to have 200% Crit DMG if you never actually do crit damage because your rate is too low. Many players who are clearing high-level orbits talk about pushing the Crit Rate up to 60% or higher.

Also, we already talked in the past about prioritizing protocores for which you already know all the substats (you can find "incomplete" ones where the substats come out as you level them up). Filter them based on the main stats of the list. Advice is to lvl them up always 3 levels each time, because that's when you'll see which substats will be upped and which will come out for incomplete protocores. If you level up a protocore and you get a substat you don't need - or worse, that works against you, you trash that protocore. Getting back the resources for a lvl 3 or lvl 6 protocore isn't THAT bad. But if you start throwing resources to get past lvl 9 for a SSR you're going to regret choosing the wrong one because you'll have to wait a bit before you absorb the cost.

- I read it somewhere and now I can't find it again so take it with a grain of salt, but some players believe there's a penalty in place when you use cards that are way too low on level compared to the required one for the battle. Translated: they say that using a lvl 30 3-star card is better than a lvl 10 5-star card if the required level is 35. I can't confirm this, but some believe it explains why DMG output is so different between players even though the overall stats listed in Details are the same.

(I...defected to Onychinus lol. Sylus get out of the way, there's a new baddie in town)
