MYTH: Shooting Stars watchthrough
#6

ouch, my heart. oh, that is so fucking tragic. he found the protocore that would cure us and it was just too late. will he always be too late? is that his doom?

but okay, i forgot the detail that we gave him the shooting star charm so this is absolutely confirmed that this is the same timeline, but i do NOT get how this works. unless i don't get born and grow up like a normal person, and just appear incarnate and fully formed like Athena. which... would be wrong because I definitely grew up like a normal person with Caleb, suspicious medical lab experimentation aside.

how did i die when we were in the Academy together, only to be in the Academy together again?

oh bloody, bloody hell. i am a DOOFUS. why do I always forget that Xavier is immortal? 214 years after Philos was born, a girl with a dying heart loves and is loved by the Prince of the land. and now its some unknown assed time later as Xavier looks/waits for us and here we are, again, stronger and no longer dying  (i hope) and his rival / friend / future queen. but... why is he still in the Academy? it has to be at least 20 more years later and he cannot possibly still be going to school.

brain bender. did he find us again, and rearranged everything to re-attend? to be that friend once more as he couldn't be the first time? or maybe immortals just take forever at everything, i don't know.

what chapter do we think we're on again?

Chapter Probably 3:
  • ".. I knew I had a classmate named Xavier .. who's swordsmanship was top notch. But I didn't see him for many years. My teacher said it would be my duty to protect him in the future, because he would be the future king of Philos."
  • ".. to become his trustiest Grandis Knight."  i am six years old and scrawling my dreams in my diary with my brightest glitter pen.
  • i... get a piggyback ride to the teacher's place. we are SOOO school rivals, I can't stand it. and awww, he's teasing me! how did we go from here to whatever was happening at the start of the myth.
  • nice. Jeremiah is a "hooligan" because he approached me for no reason and (*gasp*) touched me.  okay, he's no Caleb but its nice to feel treasured, thank you Xavier for confirming your feelings without saying anything about your feelings.
  • aaand he's got us in a clinch on the floor of the teacher's house because he refused to dodge when i tried to do a fancy move on him in retaliation. this is so grade school, i love it.
  • ohhhh i recognize that from the Fallen Crown trailer! "The Grandis Knight is to be the King's steady blade. Where his Majesty points, your sword must follow."
  • apparently our teacher is gone for awhile and won't be back... aaaand then he shows up and harumphs at us. tangled on the floor. quoting his teachings with no doubt silly voices.
  • i just... i know i prefer some of the other boys a tad more, but Xavier is wonderful. like, just imagine this in your mind's eye. A warm room, light glazing through the intricately paned, high ceiling'd windows, a beautiful carpet surrounded by beautiful things. half under, half over a beautiful man who has no problem putting his hands on you in a state of perpetual and teasing struggle, his breath against your ear, the murmur of his voice as he laughs with you as you sprawl together without thinking anything of it. a moment of odd assurance that you are in your place, where you are meant to be. and together.
  • aaaand terrible NPC voice, how i missed you.
  • did... did the teacher just call Xavier the King?
  • jesus, he did. what.
  • and since our duel got interrupted earlier with no clear winner, we are send outside after dinner to give another 1000 strikes and find out who wins at the end.
  • aaaand i win!
  • let's go back to Xavier being the King, shall we? no? nuts.
  • "as your prince.... "  are you? are you REALLY? you omitting mr omittison.
  • if that turns out just to be a dub error, i am going to be so sad.
  • wow, we trained so hard my hands are bloody.
  • .... Holy Sword of the Goddess.  is that... is the little wooden sword in Fallen Crown a cute little replica of it? is Xavier wielding it in the main trailer?!
  • "You are no knight."   "It's only a matter of time before I am."
  • so Xavier confesses the Messenger came to summon him back (like always) and something about a Titulus Ceremony.
  • "He might not make it this time." which he? to what?  /popcorn   oh, his father might not make it to this ceremony thing. is he sick? and a note that the topic of his father is taboo.
  • haaaang on. Xavier, you lying mcliarson. is the reason you don't want to talk about your dad is because he's not actually with us, and every time you have to "go back", its to take on your duties as King? so if i have to be at this ceremony too, but your dad mysteriously isn't there either, well, you already told me he might not which is why you're presiding.
  • that's what's happening, right? i have got to be in the ballpark.
  • ye lords, it makes so much SENSE. why he panicked during the duel only when the Messenger showed up. why were are being taught by THE Grandis Knight, who goes where the King points him. why he won't talk about his family.
  • so much sadness if this is not actually what's happening. Infold, give this to me, I never get anything right ahead of time.

probable chapter break!
