Where Winds Meet

i am grinning over here. i applaud your forever-aloneness-big-brain-solution. where there's a will, there's a way? at least you know if you ghost yourself, you can at least get some closure.

i had to stop WWM at least for the foreseeable future, i just... don't have the time for it because its huge and i can't handle huge right now and Caleb needs me. please post as many screenshot of your kissing adventures as possible, preferably with internal monologue captions.

Do not worry, you'll play vicariously through me.

Updates:
my forever-alone gameplay didn't last long because I have the attention span of a goldfish and I got distracted by all the missions on my main account. It doesn't help that after the 1.2 update my game started lagging so bad it was getting unplayable so I had to ditch both steam and my very big but very slow hard drive so that I could play it from my ssd.

The little I did with my two boys was figure out that all the bosses are way stronger in co-op (I was hoping I could solo the boss while controlling my main so my second character could earn the benefits) and certain missions are locked in solo-mode so I can't take couple photos in very pretty dungeons. This saddens me a lot.
I also still haven't made them official partners because I need to get into online mode to do that and I'm scared my phone will explode trying that. I'm trying to see if cloud services are stable enough for it, but no luck on that side as of now.

Still, my second boy is here ready to comfort my first, despite being around 60 levels weaker and still in default outfit mode. The thought is what counts.

Playing in my second's world has its perks, though. Like inflicting myself emotional damage (no spoiler).

A nice find in a random house in a random village: a woman of culture commissioning a danmei lol
featuring my man facepalming

Speaking of danmei, they need to stop making the villains and antagonists hot and stuck in tragic bromances. It's a problem.

Moving on, they also need to stop making quests so emotional. This was the end of a whole collection of like 20 quests all tied together and its enough to make a big girl cry.

Last but not least, get you a man that can pull off both disaster babyboy in distress, and hot incubus you summoned by accident at the devil's sacrament (it also deserves the 100% zoom because I bought the outfit today and I still can't breathe).

hot guy with the silver hair and fancy guan is hot.

i have heard through random people posting that the game IS surprisingly emotional! for an mmo? or like, is it an actually decent story? i measure everything against FFXIV Shadowbringers.

jesus on a pogo stick, that is a REALLY GOOD OUTFIT. wow. i am really impressed - you are hot enough to qualify as your own volcano god. how much did that set you back?

alsp: muaahaha! on the chipmunk cheeks! did you faceplant into a hornet's nest?

I really enjoy the lore/story side of WWM! I'm sad I don't have the history background necessary to fully enjoy and understand all the references (I can recognize/learn about historical characters, but it doesn't hit the same way it would if I was playing a video game set in Ancient Rome or Greece, historical content I grew up studying and strongly embedded in my culture) but even with these limitations, I can totally immerse myself in the plot!
So many of the missions, both big and small, don't shy away from being silly in a very wholesome way, and then when they're tragic it's very grounded in terms of troubles and obstacles. You end up rooting for so many NPCs and get invested in their story because they're all relatable, and their struggles are very real.

The only way I can describe it is by showing you the video introduction to the city of Kaifeng. It doesn't have any spoiler per se (beyond the fact that you're there?), but it gives you a clear example of the framework they like to use to ground the NPC stories around you.

P.S. The outfit ended up costing only 12 dollars or something, because I had a couple of discount coupons I managed to use! But my god, he's so beautiful it's distracting <3

P.P.S. He DID faceplant in a hornet's nest! Found 3 guys covering their head with mahjong headpieces, they send you to open a treasure, you open the treasure and get stung. When you come out understandably pissed off, they take off their headpieces and reveal three swollen faces just like yours. The silly bastards.
