..and this is random!  is there any formal rank or hierarchical structure that we're aware of in the Hunters Association?  like 'cadet', 'junior hunter, 'senior hunter' or anything like that?

Not a random question at all! In fact I believe that what we don't know is an integral part of the plot and might be revealed later on (there are some hints you'll be able to see after you've read the anecdotes+world underneath texts).
For now what we know is that the hunters association has several teams (we're in alpha, there's data analysis, armament tech, an arctic team). We know who's at the head of two teams (Jenna for ours, Andrew for data analysis), we know that Xavier has a higher clearance than MC so he has access to classified info, and that we (alpha team, data analysis, armament tech) operate under the UNICORN division.
We've also seen the dude who was in charge of making the newly recruits operative.
