Forgotten Sea / Fragrant Dream - "playthrough"
#11

There were no other mentions of lives spent under the sea with Raf beside GoT at the time. Which makes similar details mentioned in both connect them loosely (because it's not as strong as a direct quote, of course).

"This is the melody my beloved adores the most. Back then, I would often play it on my flute beneath her /window/, serenading her to sleep."
"I kissed your fingertips /beneath the window/ after, and you just laughed, humming some random song... And you're sometimes a bit out of tune."

GoT (from Sapphire Scar, one of the two 4-star cards set in the GoT timeline)
"Elder Amund expressed his grievances today. He said you stacked seven or eight turtles in your attempt to climb /out the window/"

With this new myth, the connection to the Witch and GoT is explicit, and they create this kind of chain of references that automatically puts them in order.

Ok I'm back here after listening to this card again and noticed something very interesting. So, the connection between Your Fragrance (the card where MC wears the perfume for the first time and Raf loses his mind) and Fragrant Dream (where he seems to give her another perfume from the exhibition she forced him to attend) has always been noticed by fans.
What I didn't realize is that Your Fragrance is also directly mentioned /inside/ the Witch timeline!

At the 15th minute mark in Fragrant Dream, MC recovers her memories, and we get 4 lines spoken by Raf that serve as memories flashing through her mind as she remembers herself after turning back into a human. All 4 lines are from Your Fragrance:
- Why are you here [...]?
- Did she really leave?
- Why are you taking so long to react? Aren't you going to look away?
- You still have quite a bit of time.

What does this mean? I don't know.
Is the witch timeline after the main story, which is why she gets back memories from the present when she transforms?
Is this just a fun multiverse mumbo jumbo?
Is the Witch timeline something that really happened in the past, but since MC is hallucinating those events in a dream, when she remembers herself she gets back the most recent memories that actually happened in her life (which would be Your Fragrance)?

Doesn't that imply that the Witch brewed the perfume? Or why flash back to it specifically, when that storyline snippet is all about creating a difficult potion?

I don't know what it means either, but WILD. i've got the Witch storyline as something that happens after God of Tides but before Mistsea... this is breaking my brain :D :D :D

this fucking game, i swear. between trying to string together what logically MUST hook together, versus what could be parallel universe shenanigans vs where in the godsbedamned past or future it could be... we're lucky we don't resemble that ancient alien guy with the funky hair and the wild eyed look of a person barely clinging to sanity.

I also find it amusing that, for me at least, when referring to a particular story sequence, I will interchangeably use either the name of the card itself, the name of the companion it comes with or the story title as listed in game and weirdly enough, it all works.

EDIT: just out of curiosity, did you ever work any more on your mindmap? this is precisely the kind of What Do You Think It All Means that would go into something like that, under CARD NAME > FLASH (forward or back) SEQUENCE > REPEATED LINES

I've always thought that the Witch timeline came between Romirro and Present time, because between GoT and Romirro it looks like Raf stayed slumbering at the bottom of the ocean, chained down by MC's command. If the witch brewed the potion in the past, it's possible Raf got it somewhere in the present. Alternatively, just like Hawkern made her breathe something in Romirro to make her gain certain memories back, maybe Raf knows how to do the same. Then we could ask why he wanted to trigger that dream in the first place. Unless he had no idea it would have that effect on her (which is what I think, since he only got to her when he realized she had disappeared for too long).

But the fact that we have:

Your Fragrance :
Raf has a collab with someone who makes perfumes. MC takes a sample test from the back (not a perfume on sale or even on display), Raf reacts to it like it's catnip.

Fragrant Dream :
Set some time after said collab, Raf sends her a perfume that triggers a dream from her past/future (I can't exclude that it's from the future because she HAS had dream visions of future timelines, like in GoT when she dreamed of Abysswalker), and in that timeline when he restores her memories she hears/remembers dialogues happened in Your Fragrance.

Makes no goddamn sense. Especially because Raf's "it was surely just a dream" seems to imply that he remembers the events of that timeline, except for the fact that if she's dreaming about the future it wouldn't make sense that he also knows about them. Unless he just knows that she's capable of seeing things while dreaming, so he knows to trust what she sees?
IDK.

(LOL yes same. GoT or Forgotten Sea or Young Sea God; Mistsea, Romirro, ToR, Sea God; Sea of Golden Sands, SoGS, Abysswalker)

- I didn't but I will! The entire weekend we had power black outs in the entire neighborhood and I didn't have time to sit and properly concentrate on things that require more than 10 minutes of keyboard typing. It's also why I still haven't written anything on your CYOA story despite vibrating with the need to do it. Hopefully the rest of the week will be more relaxed.
