i might be a fool for this game
#1

after wallowing in reaction vids to Submerged Eclipse off and on all day, I eventually wandered back to Abyssal Chaos and this round is featuring Farspace Colonel (yay!). and i watched Total Blockade go off on my screen a half dozen times and remembered that i was really unhappy with the quality of the screenshots i was able to lift off other people's videos for it  because they just weren't captured at high res or youtube messed them up.

so i spent a solid hour or something downloading and installing OBS (for screen recording) and Shotcut (for video editing) and then limped my way through how to use both because i couldn't remember how.

and i am pleased to announce that yes, capturing at 60 fps is do-able without stuttering, yields a great result and Shotcut now has input controls to export out single frames at 1920x1080 without hurting myself. i compared to the existing screenshots and these are so much better so tomorrow i will sit down and get them all again.

...nobody will know this but me, but i wanted to share. also, i have just realized that i can now capture in-game anything if i want to make little videos or audio on demand. i... don't know what i'd do with that, but its a thing!

Oh so much potential in this little post.

I swear I wanted to do something very similar but for a specific reason: I am an absolute sucker for fanvids with voice overs. Carefully curated voice overs that deal the max amount of emotional damage. The game usually has background music during cards and memorias etc, but it's something the player can choose to disable from the setting, leaving only sound effects and voices. I would get an entire repository of all the main story and cards voices so I could cuddle them to sleep and then put them in order with music and cutscenes.

Also hell yeah for HD screenshots! We're going to eat so good.

that is.. very possible? if that's project that you want to tackle, i could help! or something :D

Shotcut can split audio from video so you can have a pile of audio tracks and a pile of video tracks and you could slam them together like you're Dr Frankenstein.
