New Xavier Solo Banner - Feverish Attempts
#11

oh man. Xavier, what did you DO. and it didn't even work.

this is really obscure, but there was this one B+ japanese or chinese subtitled movie I watched back in the Cretaceous Period titled "The Bride With White Hair". and that was the tragedy of the movie - she thought he'd betrayed her (he hadn't) so she went full on evil (very hawt) and he swam the seven rivers and slew the seven legendary animals and climbed the seven mountains for seven years (it was a great adventure movie) to find the one pure white flower that would prove his love for her was true and he came back with it on the cusp of her greatest evil and just before he could offer it to her, she raged and swore and struck him through the heart with her hair like knives. and as he died, the flower fell from his hand and she knew that he'd truly loved her but now he was gone.

sometimes Beauty is the real problem.

You sparked a memory in the far recesses of my mind. It's a chinese movie I must have watched almost 15 years ago on some obscure TV channel, and it was about this couple where they kept on thinking they had betrayed each other (there was medieval conspiracy involved) up until the end where it turned out they didn't but by that point either one of them or both had died. Why do they always have to be so tragic.

well, like you said, they gotta drag this storyline out SOMEHOW and having a whole lot of death and angst is one way to do it! we can't know everything, or we'll be bored, right? Xavier couldn't save us, Rafayel makes stabby motions every now and again through his cage bars, Zayne doesn't remember a damned thing during his waking moments, Sylus is just lounging around biding his time until we have a breakthrough memory moment and then its on, and Caleb could give a shit about anything else as long as he gets to stand in front and kill anything that gets close.

like, some of us (i'm the some of us) still can content ourselves with ploughing through Abyssal Chaos, but everybody else is just marking time out there for the next big revelation.

tragedy sells tickets? our lives are generally full of mundane evil tied up in traffic jams and grocery lines. so much more fun to contemplete the head on collision of three fairytales at once and which is going to prevail at the end.

Which makes the fics so funny because then they're full of the domestic stuff they don't get in the main story.
And not going to lie, the tragic lore is how I got hooked into the game myself. I wouldn't have been sucked in if it was just about beautiful dudes in fluffy situations. But I'm a sucker for angst and I know my addiction well.

That little laugh he does in the mini game when you start clearing many items in a row is doing something to me
