But between the spring event and the side spring game with the little story I'm really really starting to get the "Zayne is husband material" vibe. And it's not even a vibe. At least to me it's not that he's "ideal" husband material, it's that he straight up acts like he's been married to MC for at least 6-7 years. Whenever I get cards where their relationship is already established I'm always impressed by the level of casual physical intimacy they have and how grounded it feels.

This isn't a negative comparison toward the other LIs of course, each one of them has their own version of this, but Zayne really gets me in that mindset where I don't even question that this dude is MC's husband.

for me, its hard to reconcile the side stuff with the main stuff, because i'm deep in the main story and nothing has been established particularly strongly with any of the guys in the canon sense. and then you do the little blossom event and every third screen is me and my love getting out of bed in the morning or going to bed at night.

its a tad jarring, tonally, for me.

but i can only agree. Zayne is just... there. No questions, no worries, just casually wandering into your space, gentle and sure and unquestioned.

I 100% get that.
It gets better as you get more and more cards and you start building a mental timeline of how their relationship is evolving, but even more than that, when you get used to the fact that the main story in the point of timeline you're in now won't get more than flirting with a certain LI, and instead you have to rely on the individual cards to build the romantic relationship. This doesn't mean that all the cards happen after the main story, in fact there are many that fit right in between chapters (especially since we get a 6 months gap between the explosion at grandma's and us moving to the N109 zone), but the main story is like when you're in public and PDA is not appropriate.
And of course we have to consider how long MC has known any of these guys.
Zayne = 1 year since they met again after something like 15 years of radio silence
Xavier and Raf = little more than 6 months (since she became a hunter) but she's seeing Xav more often because they're neighbors and hunter partners, and Raf has his reasons for being distant
Caleb = all her life but he's been brozoned and now he's presumed dead
