I found this rather interesting - again, just going through the new audio files I picked up.  Xavier's VA is also really good, I'm really enjoying his line delivery. Its softer and sweeter, a little distracted most of the time.. but every now and again, it sharpens which is delicious.

anyways:

this is making an interesting point about the difference between doing as you want to and doing something you don't care for in order to achieve a farther goal. there's some nuance in the first line too, something along the lines of momentum just carrying you forward, once started, when maybe you'd rather stop. that once you're on target, its hard to change direction maybe? some light flavoring of fatalistic regret.

what is Xavier's goal, anyways? I'm convinced he's older than he looks, by quite a few decades at the very least and maybe longer than that. if the Chronotrigger Event (:D) was only 14 years ago and Lumiere was there, if he came with the Deepspace Tunnel, that doesn't seem long enough for some of the odd things he says and does. Which might blow out the theory that he's a Wanderer himself.

okay. wow. i just went through the audio file for the 4* card called Shining Traces. this is something else.

as an aside, its definitely established in this one that the protofields the Wanderers are generating are absolutely lethal. I'm terribly wounded after three days of implied fighting for my life, bleeding out when Xavier shows up out of nowhere, picks me up and hauls my nearly unconscious ass to some sort of "abandoned" safe house.

side note: no wonder Zayne worries. i probably don't tell him even half of this stuff.

(begging the question if those kinds of caches are set up everywhere when the coast is clear, for when a field suddenly decends into a random spot, and Hunters either know where they are or know the ways to find one - something like a cairn system of whatever. could be anything from a reinforced house to a simple stash of med kits, i suppose. kind of like smugglers' waystations. i digress, but random tangents are the stuff of life.)

Let us take a brief moment to notice that he's pulled our hand over his original wound, the one he had when he was sleeping on the field when he was first found. the one where he asked our forgiveness before calling just a shit ton of light out to destroy everything around us -- query: are we a catalyst agent, a magnifier of sorts? is that what our heart+1 does?

(second tangent:  if it wasn't for other references of him doing things when we weren't around, i would have the suspicion he only wakes up when we're in need of him)

He... he came with the Wanderers, didn't he? How would he know that this recreation found in the middle of a shadow field is a reflection of something else so very far away? which would negate the Methuselah theory, unless maybe the deepspace tunnel has shown up in times-before like the Hale-Bopp and he's been kicking around since then, waking up every now and again when we reincarnate in his vicinity :P

i would also have grabbed his hand -- please don't dissipate, Xavier. we're half in love with you already. if only you knew how to shop for yourself.

I started with being neutral about Xavier but then I don't know how it happened, he's been officially adopted by me.
I don't have this card, and reading your screenshot lines has been...interesting /eye emoji
"From the stars we rise, to the stars we fall" is a BANGER line that I already knew because so many fanvid creators use it and for good reason. It goes so hard.

There is definitely something odd with him, isn't there. He should be way older than he is, and he has so much insight knowledge about things that he shouldn't know, and why is he here around us, really? Being a hunter doesn't seem to explain everything.
If you have unlocked some of his Anecdotes, they're very important.

About MC's evol, I'm pretty sure I'm not spoilering because it's established in the game and she knows what she does since the very beginning, and our evol type is directly commented on when we become hunters, but just to be on the safe side I'll give you a link for the definition of her evol name.

Last thing to consider: that huge thing above Linkon is a deepspace tunnel. A space tunnel. A wormhole. Draw all the relevant conclusions and science fiction theories for anything that comes through that.

c'mon, him being a Hunter explains exactly nothing about Xavier. like, he's so far off the power charts, there should be a crack squad of handpicked disciples around him or something. the fact that he's hanging around even in the vicinity of the Association is sort of suspicious in and of itself - dude ought to be taking his orders from sealed drops left in trash cans. again, wouldn't even blink an eye if i was to find out that the ink on his Hunter license has barely had time to dry 24 hours after we met him.

also, haven't figured out in the least where the whole teleportion / disappearing / reappearing trick comes in. pinned, noted, no strings attached to it yet.

re/our evol - a-ha! i guessed right! proud moment for me. i remember seeing the type/name come up at the beginning but i wasn't paying a ton of specific attention and honestly, didn't bother to type it into google because i was still under the impression that all the text was just fluff text. you know, for padding.

i'm an in-hand dynamo power source. everybody wants me, and not only for vivisection.
