Abyssal Chaos - ChicletPrime - 05-25-2025 okay, I sat down this afternoon after my tidy little nap, and tried Abyssal Chaos (technically again, but I bailed out of it very quickly the first time). i got all the way to the (easy) 16/16 end fight, but lost because I was on claymore and bit of a dummy with it, charging in when the boss was busy doing devastation at melee range. then i hit the quit button reflex before i realize there was a retry button and the whole thing reset. which didn't seem to be a big deal honestly as some poking around afterwards, it looks like you can get more points by doing other paths on subsequent retries? nice, if true. i didn't try to run it a second time as i see in the corner that i guess this round of it ends tomorrow? and i guess there's another story thing to do, with a different companion to earn points with? and it looks like you can rank up the companions as you go, in a persistent way? or something. it was a lot of fun! i am glad i stopped it previously and only came back now, because now i have a much better idea of Sylus and i could hear his voice in the dialogue and appreciate the character dynamic a ton more. it was also good that i had a better sense of how to fight using the claymore so i wasn't fumbling quite so much. the little card boosts were interesting - not sure i was picking the best choices as I often went with a Not Recommended choice but its my game, i can mess around as i please. there was a section in there with jumping platforms though that i despised - i didn't have a keybind set up for it and didn't feel like stopping to add one, so i had to do the < > thing on the keyboard and tap the mouse click to jump which was awwwwkward and i got zero stars on it. i HATE jumping puzzles. i am terrible at them in every game and the only ones i ever even was okay with trying was the ones in Guild Wars 2. jumping platformers can go die in a fire for all of me. 8.5/10, had a good time, will repeat and try again. RE: Abyssal Chaos - Coldsaturn - 05-26-2025 Ok I'm on mobile so the info I'm able to give you is not going to be great but it will still be something. The basic concept is that you have two missions (the two main tabs in abyssal chaos, the first one being finding tobias), and a fuckton of companions to do them with. In fact, each LI will have all the different combat versions you have. You'll notice some companions are gold, those are the limited companions that cycle through each run of abyssal chaos. It's a good way to test them, on top of being very strong. Every time you play AC you do that with your best cards already maxed out. As you might have already seen, each of the two missions has multiple branches and endings. You're expected to finish them all (there's a walkthrough guide on reddit to reach all the endings, it can get confusing. I'll link it to you once I'm back on the computer) with all your companions. As you take them through the missions again and again they will level up. You might be wondering: OK but doesn't that get repetitive very soon? Yes, yes it does. Tobias has its own level grinding you go through, but once you complete that you'll be stuck on the second mission which has a lot more levels with rewards (you gain levels by redoing the mission over and over, it doesn't get more difficult), but is capped at 2000 exp per run. What do you do if you have already leveled up all your companions and have reached the max amount of exp you can get for the current run of AC? You collect everything else. Cards, codes, items, Incidents (as you go through the mission, at times it will make you choose between battles and Incidents - Incidents are little side quests that can give you more items, codes, etc.). You are supposed to collect them all for all companions, and it will give you diamonds the more you find. Which is why you should always choose new cards and codes. From the main page in AC you'll see on the right the buttons for the codes/cards etc. You'll see your completion status then. Even though the mission is the same, each LI will tackle it differently making it feel new. Instead, it will be the same for all the different forms of your companion, so once you have 100% the mission with one, you can replay it by skipping and automating the battles. RE: Abyssal Chaos - ChicletPrime - 05-26-2025 I get the impression that Abyssal Chaos and the Senior Hunt thing are the weekly content to clear and the Orbits are for long term battle progression? RE: Abyssal Chaos - Coldsaturn - 05-26-2025 SHC are for battle girlies but even more than that for that little amount of rewards you can get from the stars you can gather based on your level. For example I can get around 15 stars out of 36 right now, those are still diamonds and other rewards that are very important to get since we're in a drought of resources. AC is again for the diamonds you can get by collecting new cards/codes/incidents + the lvl you can clear with the 2000exp cap. All for the diamonds and rewards. LI specific orbits are for diamonds and the occasional reward (every now and then you get an outfit) but most of all for affinity. Orbits are the biggest source of affinity, followed by kittycards+clawmachine. Open orbits are for the diamonds you get by clearing each level. It's all for our desperate need for diamonds RE: Abyssal Chaos - ChicletPrime - 05-26-2025 i'm kind of getting the impression... and correct me if i'm wrong here, i might be misreading things... but i'm kind of getting the impression that its all about the diamonds? so i see that AC did roll over this morning, so I will attempt it this week for the fancy stuff and see how that goes! RE: Abyssal Chaos - Coldsaturn - 05-26-2025 You must have read wrong, diamonds aren't that important at all. The game absolutely does not revolve around them. We're not scrambling to get even those 10 diamonds from fake sharing (so long as you open the app the game thinks you actually shared the post) random kitty cards on instagram once a week. When you're in AC the menu you need to look at is Records (top right corner). Cases is the mission branches for each LI. You get diamonds when you reach 100% completion with each LI (not each version: Colonel Caleb and Myth Caleb don't count twice). Incidents is all the incidents you trigger by choosing that option during the mission. You get diamonds every 3 new incidents you get, and there are 50 for all LIs while Caleb has 30. They don't share the pool, so you actually have to trigger all 50 for each LI. Codes is the codes you get by playing, separated by HP, Dodge, Summon, Shield, Negative; then you have Eclusive that are specific for each LI, and Code Sets. You get diamonds by completing everything, there are 273 to unlock. Last but not least Items. Each mission branch with every LI will get different items on top of the generic ones you get by playing. In total you have to find 70. These are possibly the easiest ones because you're pretty much forced to find them all by going through the missions with all the LIs. RE: Abyssal Chaos - ChicletPrime - 05-26-2025 jesus lord on a triscuit, that is WAY more complicated than i thought it was. Cases are repeatable for diamonds on each reset? Incidents are one time only? ie, unlock once and you're golden forever? or diamonless forever after, whichever. Codes is one time only. Items are one time only. Yes? RE: Abyssal Chaos - Coldsaturn - 05-26-2025 Nope, everything is one time only. Once you've completed all cases (so all mission's branches for all LIs), triggered all the incidents for each LI, got all the codes and all the items, the only thing left is getting 2000exp every AC run by running through a mission again. Those 2000exp should send you 20 lvls forward and give you a bunch of rewards. That's it, then you wait 13 days or however long the countdown is. This entire game is one-time only, it's why so many people are complaining that it's so difficult to farm diamonds without spending real money once you're a long-term player. P.S. What you might be thinking about is SHC. That's repeatable, and one of the only rare sources of regular diamonds. RE: Abyssal Chaos - ChicletPrime - 05-28-2025 okay, i fully intended on doing another chapter or two of main story. instead i ended up running the second part of Abyssal Chaos... Final Something with Rafayel as Abysswalker. we, for the record, kicked so much ass. but mostly... sometimes Rafayel just comes out with things that kinda stop my heart for a moment. He is such a complex character. one moment childish and petulant, one moment sweet and mischievous, and then one moment distant creature of eld. RE: Abyssal Chaos - Coldsaturn - 05-28-2025 Raf in Final Farewell is truly something. That will not be the only moment he will have. I literally have some screenshots of final farewell on my desktop right now lol it's that bad. Oh and I was forgetting, here's the guide to all the endings in final farewell. Clearing the first couple of branches is always easy, but once you get to 75% completion it will start to look a bit more complicated. Hence the guide. |
