He's such a soft yandere in this card!
(you looked up kuudere, in case you're not familiar with the yandere trope, it's basically how Caleb is marketed to us: loving and caring and wholesome until you start seeing the red flags - and there are many, and will probably get you locked up in his house with no way out)
Also, a very important window into how difficult it is for him to accept that MC might be growing up into someone independent enough that won't need him for every little thing. And he needs her to need him because he doesn't believe there's any other way he might get to stay so close to her if not for that.
