So there I am, throwing caution to the winds and deciding to splurge the free golden tickets on the wedding banner. Who knows, maybe Sylus will come home in a swoosh of black and lightning and I can clutch him to my breast and maybe take 50 screenshots of the same thing at slightly different angles.
The good news?
Somewhere around pull 21, I get a five star red background! Woo!
The bad news?
It wasn't Sylus.
Worse news?
It wasn't any of the wedding cards.
The good news?

Oh hell yeah his 5 stars are all so good!
I had to use precise wish to get Raf too, lost the first 50/50 to Zayne (random 5 star, not even from the event).

The urge to use the SSR crate to get that matching pair and play around with the Farspace Colonel is so hard to resist.
I skimmed through all the wedding banner playthroughs just to get a sense of them,.
-- I want Sylus' card, so I'm going to pull for that for sure. The story looks angsty which is my cup of several teas, and its a 5* in his primary color of which I have literally none of, so in dreaming hope of picking up Abysm Sovereign in six months, it might be nice to have another pink card kicking around. Yes, I'm justifying this. It should only cost about 3,000 diamonds I think which would leave a bunch for the next big pull. My math might off, don't quote me.
-- I wish I could afford Zayne, simply because I love that dress and hair the most.
-- I wish I could afford Xavier because honestly, his whole cutscene at the end of the card is drop dead gorgeous and I want to kiss it several times, then clutch it to my breast in a surfeit of sweet, courtly emotion.
-- I saw some stuff in Rafayel's card that seemed to give more lore information about the previous myths, etc, so I am looking forward to any commentary you got on that at some point.

Ok I'm back after watching all the cards.
First of all:
I 100% understand you wanting to get Colonel. He's...so good and hot. In terms of narrative enjoyment I would 100% understand if you wanted to get him immediately. Consider that the Colonel is relevant if you actually use Caleb in battles, because for the rest his other 5 star card can be pulled from the Galaxy explorer (which is how I got the Colonel in the first place), so take your time thinking about it. Crates don't expire.
The wedding cards:
- Sylus' card is possibly the best one IMO. There's angst, there's fluff, it adds background lore to his character in the present, it ties back to his myth, it adds a bit of relationship development between them. There's one detail about him that is discovered in Death&Rebirth; nothing you would necessarily consider a spoiler, it was a surprise for us when we read it in the main chapter, it might be a surprise for you to read it in this card -- the final result is the same.
I won't pull for him because I've already spent enough diamonds to get Raf and I want to save whatever I can for the beach banner, but if you know you can get Sy with your precise wish activated (which I remind you works once you don't get the chosen LI the first time around, so if you start from 70 pulls for a 5 star it will activate at the 140th pull) go for it. It's really a gorgeous card.
To get him with 3000 pulls it would mean you are 20 pulls away from a guaranteed Sy's wedding card.
- Zayne's MC has gorgeous hair and dress. 10/10. The story has nice ties to his Foreseer myth, and some fans are even saying that Zayne might remember that life. I don't think that's the case necessarily, it might just be the writers going /wink wink/ at us. The rest is your standard tooth-rotting married-couple fluff only ZayneMC are capable of bringing out. Very nice, but not vital for lore.
- Xavier's is basically the same. Very sweet, a randomly angsty throwback to his anecdote where he first met MC, and that's pretty much it. Very nice and cute and dreamy, nothing new in terms of lore or development.
- Raf's is the outlier here because it's pretty much the only card that takes place in the past, before his branch story. I've rewatched it, read some theories around, but I really believe that's the case. Many fans were left disappointed because after his myth and his spring card and banquet ablaze, they were expecting something of similar weight, instead they got a RafMC that looked like they had regressed in their relationship. I truly think this card takes place at the early stages of their romantic commitment, and there are several dialogue lines that confirm it for me.
Also, there's a bit of background lore for Lemuria, a nice semi-spicy moment, and the average chaos RafMC always cause whenever they're together.
It abruptly ends right after the kindled moment, which left many fans surprised because none of the other LIs do that. But the length checks out, so it might have been a matter of not having enough time to write an epilogue. My headcanon is that they went straight to sex and we are not privy to that.
- Caleb's is the one that is still confusing me the most because while I can rationalize Raf's writing and still place it in the timeline, I still can't do that with Caleb's card. It either takes place before or after his bday, and in both cases we create a weird contradiction for the timing of the start of their relationship. Beside this single point, it's also a very nice card, it explicitly mentions Lucid Dream, adds a bit of characterization to Caleb, it's romantic and angsty, the english localization once again could not avoid the "I don't want us to be siblings" topic. Again very good.
If I were to rate them, as a non-Raf main, I'd say:
Sylus, Caleb, and then Raf-Zayne-Xav (you choose based on your specific preferred vibe)

okay, i'm home again and i was a little off - just 33 pulls for Sylus so about 5k diamonds. I'ma do it anyways, i have about 30k saved up and maybe the beach stuff will be dumb and skippable.
one day i will be caught up on all the story and then i won't feel rushed to go through things where there's potential spoilers because i will be un-spoilable! and you will cry with pride, dabbing your eyes as your little protogé will have grown up and gotten pregnant by five guys at once.

To be honest you're already doing more than a lot of people who play the game without any care for the lore or the order of plot events lol
And indeed I'll cry with pride once you're officially up to date and host baby showers for your 5-in-1 pregnancy! At that point it will just be a matter of remembering the huge amount of info that just ran you over

QUESTION: if i opt not to play the 5* story for Sylus' wedding card right now, and save it for after Death&Rebirth, will I be screwing myself out of anything major (ie, does the wedding stuff you get for playing that card expire if you don't do it by the time the event ends?)
i am going to birth a five-fathered daughter and we're both going to be So Happy About It :D
and good GRAVY, the amount of lore in this game. i find myself staring at the ceiling a lot, trying to remember where or when i saw or heard something that might be tangentially related to the sentence that guy just said, assuming i have my tin foil hat on and am willing to strain the bounds of reason.

The chaptered event that is currently running (After Vows event - Evermore Bond 6 chapters) won't be available to you after it ends.
BUT.
The chapters we're unlocking with the event will still be available to you in With Him - Love Timeline (you can use the filter to grey out every button except for Others, which is where chaptered events will stay) so long as you have already played them during the official event. When you open one of those posts, you'll see a "review" button at the bottom that will let you play the entire chapter.
Which means you can save the wedding content and the chapters for later, but while you can ignore the cards once you get them, you can't avoid playing the chapters in the official event or you'll lose them after the deadline.
My advice would be to play them 2x speed and on Auto, so you unlock them in your With Him section and then leave them to be played later.
Yeah lol for a game so young they sure managed to fill it up nicely. I probably remember what I do because I have a habit of watching lots of fanvideos. You start learning the quotes by memory at a certain point lol
