i dunno, i bet if we ask for the forum moderator for leniency, they'd be okay with a slightly off topic post. it's actually fairly chill around here, i kinda like it.
(will pin new Kahli guide to the top -- I still haven't gotten through all of Abyssal Chaos yet. let alone all these new Orbits that kick my little newkid butt)

I don't tell you enough how heavenly this place feels. I lurk and sometimes I'm active in all the official places and socials + a couple of communities, and this right here feels like one of Sylus' safe houses in the N109 zone.
- the side missions with abyssal and unicorns are a mess when you want to grind diamonds because of the lottery when you try to trigger new events and cases, but I'm appreciating more and more how they crafted a story around a single place where you need to carefully play all the LIs and all their endings in order to understand what is actually going on there.
- The new orbits are terrifying. If you're not stuck already, you'll soon reach a point where you need fully awakened cards with +12/+15 protocores.

i have Abysswalker at 71, Lemurian Sea God at 70, a handful of supporting cards at 40 50 and some precious 60's and quasi decent protocores for most of them at +3 or +6. i have, like, ONE protocore that i like all the stats on. everything else, i waffle, thinking maybe i should wait a little longer for something better? i am getting nowhere fast!
BUT.
you are also talking to the hotshot that played Love Nikki for four years straight and Flight Rising for seven - i can see a horizon with a smudge of what might be mountain on it and i can absolutely slog for it. i am turtle. i am unconquerable. i will make Caleb's cards crawl to me on their bellies, if that's what it takes.
i am very, VERY pleased with both Abyssal Chaos and the new Kahli areas and the stories they are telling. It's really well done, how the storylines are wrapped around each other, revisiting the same places from different angles, different ways to resolve it and yet it ends up in the same place, only with new insights. i am very much enjoying the facets of those discoveries as I come across them.
honestly, this game has my undivided attention right now. let's all be afraid.
i am so pleased you are enjoying this corner as much as i am! it does feel like a retreat of some indeterminate shade, doesn't it? i dipped my toe into reddit a couple of times and was underwhelmed. and tumblr is this weird whirl of anonymous contact, like stretching out on a merry go round, trying to tag somebody as you go by. i am not convinced making greater effort would be worth the... well, effort, although every now and again i try and convince myself. then again, i can always just come here and make you laugh with insignia licking :P
god, i have so many feels for Lucid Dream. i will try and be coherent about it tomorrow.

With those card levels you can totally clear a lot of core hunts and orbit levels if you focus on protocores more. It's more expensive, I know, but once you get in the range of 4500-6000 ATK and 2000 DEF for your team you can use Sea God companion to carry you a lot.
Yeah the only problem I have with both Abyssal and Kahli is how after the first time you play it it becomes very repetitive. I end up speedrunning the gameplay part of it and then read the story from the menu so I can take it all in without pause. But it's really interesting how it expands quite a lot on characters' motivations. You play one LI and then realize that he was lying the entire time when you play another, or you find out what one's LI's plan is in the main story thanks to what he says in one of these missions.
I will defend this place with my life, I can't take two steps anywhere without encountering some new drama sapping the life out of the game. Sometimes I think players like to fight against each other more than they like playing the actual game. I interact with others in a very pragmatic kind of way, if I see a question I have the answer to or I have a doubt of my own etc. I will write something, but otherwise I lurk and keep to my safe corner a lot lol
