i just watched the WEDDING trailer (whatever its actually called) and wow. okay.
i dunno about holding fast to "combat cards only". those were ALL stellar options. did you see how gorgeous they all looked!? maybe. maybe i could own just one. as a treat.

7. OK I managed to watch the trailer a few other times and I think I can confidently say this is a Wedding Banner but it's not THE wedding WEDDING banner. There are a few lines spoken by the LIs (Sylus and Xavier) on top of the totally crazy setting for Caleb and Xav and Zayne too that makes me think this is possibly a dream, a simulation or something. Not necessarily a dream because I think the other LIs will remember as well, but yeah, this isn't THE wedding. It would be a little too soon both in and out of the game.
2. Yeah so many people were waiting for the end of the streaming to go to sleep at 6 am, or had woken up at 4 to watch it lol
The commitment.
3. I think the AR is going to be the generic *point phone camera somewhere, in your screen the LI will appear like he's actually there*
4. The kitty widget looks like a tamagochi
8. Illusio really rewards people who have many cards, I'm crying because I don't have the spicy cards (joined the game too late damn), but I know everyone will put Sea God in every possible cutscene that has ever been made.
9. OK from what I'm seeing from the trailer, Sylus 100% will have lore tied to his myth in there. All the others are tied to their myths as well (the locations), but in the trailer everyone looks sweet and wholesome while Sylus is melancholic. I'll have to pull for Raf because he's Raf, but Sylus is really really really tempting me. But this is also NOT the real wedding. And the rest of the schedule for the year will be crazy, and we still don't know if we'll get that spicy beach banner later on. So I might resist at least 24 hours once this drops so I can watch all the cards online and choose if I'll die if I don't get them.
Or maybe the new update will inflate the size so much that the problem will be automatically solved for me lol
10. You know in videogames when you start finding med packs and ammo everywhere and you just know it's because there's a boss behind the corner? Same vibe.
12. True oh my god. Sylus is suffering, but Caleb's situation is ridiculous. We're still also missing Bonds with them. They arrived late, it's understandable, but damn they're lagging behind.

I can only agree -- the wedding stuff does look like something caught out of time, in some fever dream of imagination.still cool. i like the dress that comes with Zayne the best, but prefer Sylus if I'm going to draw a single card. I really, really want Caleb too just because kissing my gege hasn't gotten old yet - they are not making this easy (like they ever make it easy). best to wait and watch the cards online for free before making a decision!
the lack of cards is very concerning. i would prefer (i think, because my preferences change daily) to "main" either Caleb or Sylus as their draw is about equal for me, for different reasons. Then Zayne by the slimmest of margins with Rafayel and Xavier hot on his heels. Like if C & S are at 9.5 on my 10 scale, Zayne is 9.3 and Raf and Xav are 9.2 - i really, really like them all. i am a polyamorous party babe at heart it seems.
but what i'm trying to say is, how can I "main" a guy that has maybe a dozen cards and none of them are going on re-run anytime soon?
you know, i've always grumpily wondered -- if they brought the pricing down on these games to something more "reasonable", i would easily drop $100 month on these things because that would be an amount i wouldn't notice at all out of my bank account. instead, since i can't pull for any major thing more than a few times, i spend less than I potentially would. if i can't tell all five things that are on offer, i need to police myself to just one, then i don't bother running the whole table, you know? i hope that limp metaphor was understandable.
wouldn't they make MORE money if they could get more people to spend less but much more consistently? or are the whales truly that lucrative? i mean, they are making bank on this game, no question, but i've always questioned the pragmatism behind it.

The heartbreakers were also saying that MC was on an undercover mission as a wedding planner (for the chibi event where you decorate the venue), so it might be a protofield related to some wanderer or something. We've had similar situations both in the main story and in cards, it wouldn't be the first time.
If I were free to go where my heart wants I'd probably pull for Raf, Sylus, and Caleb in that order, then Xav and right behind him Zayne. I'll definitely watch the cards first, it usually pours some rationality on my hype and lets me understand which card I actually want to spend money on if any (for example at the beginning of the current Promise event - which has a Sylus and a Raf card - I initially wanted both until I watched Sylus' online and found out that it was enough for me).
Yeah that's also how I ended up with maining Raf alone. I actually joined the game for Sylus, and when I started I spent a few weeks building both of them up while still grinding the entire harem party. Soon it was obvious that maining 2 LIs was a medium-spender game, and it was further complicated by the fact that Sylus just doesn't have that many cards to begin with (Sy battle players rely on his Abysm Sovereign companion to brute force battles, since you can't match stellactrums most of the times). The most rational choice if one wants to farm diamonds through battles is to main one of the original LIs because they have the most content out there, and therefore are statistically favored during random galaxy and echo pulls. I had Xav tag along until building him up meant prioritizing him for two entire weeks at a time because of how scarce upgrading resources are, so here I am with Raf, number #1 in my wallet if not in my heart.
I like Caleb a lot, but he's worse than Sy and again relies on his limited myth to brute force battles because you're forced to use those same 6 cards over and over again. It just isn't feasible as of now.
The pricing issue is something I always struggle to rationalize because that's also how every other company running a platform or offering a service ends up: instead of building loyalty with their clients and users by rewarding them and incentivizing them into giving them their money forever and ever, they'd rather try to exploit them as much as they can, no matter if it means the entire company will have to kill the product because now everyone hates it.
In the case of LaDS, there's also the issue that whales bring a lot of money and they're also in a elite position that they want to maintain. Lowering the prices would mean making their big spending useless. Why should they invest so much in the game if some random low-spender player can achieve the same results?

i have no idea what this is/will be, but after agonizing on the screen for about 10 seconds, i went with Sylus. if anybody is going to croon at me about our wedding plans, i'm picking the guy most likely to knock me flat on my back out of sheer longing.

I went with Raf on my main account, and on the second f2p account I'm slowly building up as a diamond backup fodder, I went with Sylus.
Also, whatever card you'll try to pull or watch on youtube, make sure you have watched the related myth for that character, because boy oh boy they're going heavy with parallels and direct references.
The related myths are:
Zayne - Tower of Secrets
Xavier - Shooting Stars
Sylus - Beyond Cloudfall
Caleb - Lucid Dream
Rafayel - could be either GoT or Abysswalker or both

Random question - I was looking at my cards this morning, comparing what I have to what I need to try and tackle the upper Core Hunts (can't Senior Hunt without good protocores) and I did pull Forever Sealed for Zayne out of nowhere. Considering I have NO 5* cards for Zayne, do you think its not the worst idea in the world to use my SSR crate to get its pair and get whichever of Zayne's companions that pair will give me (Foreseer?).
I can't imagine its the worst idea in the world and it would at least give me a solar pair that's worth leveling to try and clear another stage or maybe two. But it would also suck to get it on a regular pull and I WILL be pulling a bunch on the upcoming wedding thing for Sylus, so... best to hang on?
I know, I should make my own decisions here but its like hunkering over a gambling table in Vegas with your bestie from Nowhere, Arkansas, trying to make the most of the money you made from your waitressing job back home.
PS: what do you mean, "backup diamond fodder" - you can't share diamonds between accounts? or are you using a second account to grab certain cards that you can't justify for your main?

With all the myths coming before Sea God Raf you have to consider that in order to watch the story you have to upgrade both cards to lvl 60. It gets expensive just to read the myth, so just because of that I'd tell you to avoid using the crate there.
What about finally having a 5 star for Zayne so you can get Foreseer companion?
I'll copy and paste that page I linked a while back that ranked the companions and how high in priority they are for each LI:
4. Foreseer Zayne ?
Not a priority because Arctic Zayne is the strongest free companion in the game.
Often, building for ATK stats on his team's protocores and running Arctic (Claymore for single boss, gun for trash mobs) will be better than building strictly DEF protocores (expen$ive) and running Foreseer.
You have Sea God who is also running on DEF, so the same protocores you'd use on one would work on the other if not for the fact that Zayne heavily favors blue and red stellactrums, so the overlap isn't all that common.
Speaking of Sea God: if you have a few blue and red cards from Raf, you're pretty much done thanks to Sea God. 90% of the times you don't even need the full stella match, you can just put the Abysswalker solars and then however many matched stella in the lunar cards, and brute force the battle with Sea God. He's that broken as companion.
It does require some dexterity because his fights are pretty dynamic, so if you're not using a controller with your emulator you might have problems trying to make everything work with just the keyboard and mouse.
I'd tell you that the only reason to get Foreseer Zayne is if you're maining Zayne and you want to build your team with his cards because you genuinely use him in battles. Otherwise Sea God easily replaces him at the moment, and you might as well use the crate to rank up one of your other owned companions (if you use Sylus often you can rank him up to make him a bit stronger, or you can rank up Abysswalker for added ATK power).
Consider that with core levels you can absolutely try to brute force it. Spam the lesser levels so you get a lot of protocores to trash so you can upgrade the good ones you have, and try to clear the levels that way.
P.S. Yeah I meant building up diamonds there so that in an emergency situation where I absolutely can't pull for a certain card because I've already surpassed my badget or something, I can decide to use the other one.

i am not to proud to admit that i don't understand this. if i put Abysswalker into the solars (purple stellactrums), then how does Sea God (yellow stellactrum AND also a solar pair) even factor in? It's either one or the other, I can't run both sets of cards in the same fight. EDIT: CAN I RUN BOTH SETS OF CARDS IN THE SAME FIGHT? i thought you couldn't put solar cards in lunar slots?
I have one (1) red lunar card for Rafayel and two (2) blue lunar cards so its a little skint there for sure.
and i admit, i keep forgetting i don't * have * to match the stellactrum, i just... always do. so if i use Abysswalker and my four other strongest Rafayel cards and starting pushing the ATK protocores past +6 to make up the difference, that could do it.
