Remember when I said that I would use the 10 free pulls to chip away at my limited-pool so I'd get closer to getting Raf as soon as his event starts?

Where was this luck when I was trying to get Raf's spring card???
So many conflicted emotions running through me while I played Caleb's bday and Bunny Xavier's card.
I guess I'm back at grinding diamonds like there's no tomorrow for Raf's myth (which apparently got leaked yesterday on twitter and we might get a full on merman myth, I'm not ready).

a full on merman myth sound AMAZING! i was going to pull for that regardless because, you know, Rafayel + myth sounds fairly unmissable even if I do have Abysswalker already (who is also ah-mazing but you knew that).
did you watch the leak? will you watch the leak or do you want to be surprised?
as far as I can tell, Caleb's bday card is cute but not really a worthy combat card and not exactly chock-a-block with lore that I need to pet over and over again.

Caleb's bday card has more relationship development than actual lore. It's the big turning point (dare I say...the...no-return point night?) in his relationship with MC (which is why I added it to the timeline playlist). Is it something you will chew nails for because you didn't get it? Not necessarily. I would advise you to watch the card on youtube and decide for yourself if you want to play it interactively rather than enjoying it from a third party playing it. Otherwise, it's totally skippable. Skipping it was also my intention before the god of fortune decided to fuck me specifically.
I didn't actually see the leak because it was being passed through DMs and I'm not that desperate for something that we will see officially very shortly (unless the leak changes the schedule, raf's myth should drop after caleb's bday event), but people were screaming about him being in full merman form (which we never saw, we only got his shadowed outline in the main story), so that's going to be fun. Also, myth companions have been getting stronger as time goes on, so it should be good considering how God Of Tides isn't The Best (especially when Abysswalker is right there waving at you with a smirk on his face). Theory is that his stellactrum should be yellow.
Also, subtle big change in the main story (chap 7) in preparation for Raf apparently, now his watery background has actual things in it rather than a blue void!

i am digging that new background! it does sound like they're sprucing up Rafayel in preparation for the new myth, i didn't know they went back and re-jiggered some of the chapters like that, i will have to go back myself and update my screenshot :P
it has to be said that Rafayel has just loved me personally, i have more of his cards than I do of anybody else's in the 4*/5* range in dominant colors by a very wide margin (ie, i have TWO Caleb cards and ONE for Sylus versus EIGHT for Rafayel) so I sort of feel "pushed" into main-ing Rafe for combat since that's a very decent base to fill in the off colored cards as they come up.
i feel a little overwhelmed at the moment (mostly because my life took a turn for the busy over the last week or so) with how much i still have to 'get done' while at the same time wanting to not go too fast because i will, eventually, run out of new things. there's a real balance point as well because i've started three or four little fiction pieces and if i find out too much too soon, i'll leave my ideas behind which would be sort of sad.
then i look at the Timelines and think, nah, i'm gonna be here FOREVER.

Lol that's the Raf-distribution system at work. You didn't want to main him, but what are you going to do now when 85% of your cards are his? :D
Jokes aside, in terms of combat at the moment I'm using Raf and Lumiere interchangeably based on stellactrum, and I find myself struggling only when I get deep into the blues and reds because that would be Zayne but I just don't have him leveled enough for that. His individual orbit is stuck at 30 (for comparison, Raf's is in the 80s). It is what it is, in the end you have to make do with what the gacha system gives you.
100% prioritize your mental health and take it as slow or fast as you wish. Needless to say, don't ever feel pressured because I'm camping here waiting for your story updates. I check the forum daily because it's easily inserted in my routine, but I very well know what it means when life gets busy and you start juggling your emotional-support hobbies.
In terms of running out of new things: this game wants our money, so they churn out new stuff literally every 10 days or so. And while main story updates take a few months to drop, there's so much going on with hints and clues in all other cards that as of now I've never felt a gap in how much lads-stuff I'm organizing in my mind.
If you gobbled up all your backlog starting from now, by the time you're done you'd still find a few new things that have just dropped. The slightly slower pace then is useful to sit on the mountain of info and theories between one new bit and the next.
I totally get writing fics and not wanting to update your canon knowledge because you'd lose those headcanons. I'm taking my time before putting pen to paper myself because I'd inevitably use what I know of the characters, and that would be a spoiler for you, so that's definitely confirmation that as you progress with the story and learn their backgrounds, you could end up changing ideas on the characters or the world.
